Haha well I can't believe I actually got into Soul Eater... The animation style look like a little kids show at the beginning so I didn't even consider it. But out of boredom, I found out it'd be quite inapproapriate for kids haha. Well this is my rendition of what Soul Eater would look like if the anime style didn't suck. The shows just funny tho, watch it if you haven't . Watch the anime, don't read the manga, it sucks more .
In terms of the actual picture, I could have done this so much faster and better providing I had a tablet... So if any of you is dumb enough to donate me a tablet (ya right) I will draw you ANYTHING lol, with taht tablet of course. Ya, I effed up on his hair and his scythe in this picture, oh well there;s always next time.
Soul Eater from....Soul Eater (I still can't believe that) 0.7 Mech Pencil Optical Mouse PS CS3
Nice work! This piece caught my eye in my deviations today, possibly because it's a really nicely done CG that uses lighting really well~ I like seeing lighting used in pictures :3
Could've fooled me with the mouse. The shading looks like something you'd do with a tablet. The compound lighting here is pretty awesome. I like how the "front" edges are red because of that sphere thing, and the "back" edges blend in with the background. That sadistic grin turned out great, too.
My only critique is, I'm not a big fan of the turquoise glow around that scythe; it looks rather plain compared to the rest of the picture. The rest of the drawing has a good mix of sharp/hard parts and softer parts, but the glow there seems like an afterthough compared to the rest. Maybe if some light coming from that affected his shading just like the sphere, it would make it fit in more? (It wouldn't have to be as bright as the red, but even something along the sleeves would do the trick. )
